(Our Team) Scott Kaye - Business Development Manager
Posted in: LGH Team

LGH strengthens its UK sales team with the appointment of Scott Kaye as Business Development Manager. Tasked with driving new business in the North West, Scott will also contribute his expertise to the wider sales team.

We recently had the opportunity to sit down with Scott for a Q&A session. Here is a glimpse of what we discussed:

WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO JOIN LGH AND TAKE UP THE BDM ROLE?

I’ve always thrived in external sales, ever since taking on the first Tool & Plant BDM role at Jewson. I enjoy meeting customers, building relationships and winning business, and LGH felt like the right place to bring that energy while learning a new product range.

WHAT ARE YOUR CAREER ACHIEVEMENTS SO FAR?

I’ve progressed from driver/fitter to supervisor, then to hire manager where I grew a small branch into a flagship site that won Area Branch of the Year twice. I later became a BDM at Jewson, helping shape the role nationally, and most recently exceeded targets as an Area Sales Manager/BDM at Brandon Hire Station before moving to LGH.

WHAT INDUSTRIES HAVE YOU WORKED IN?

I started out in retail and manufacturing before moving into the hire industry, where I’ve spent the last 15 years. That mix of hands‑on operational work, customer service and equipment hire has given me a solid understanding of how contractors, site teams and project managers work day‑to‑day. From the yard to management to BDM roles, all this experience transfers directly into the lifting sector and sets myself up for supporting LGH customers with the same level of service and trust they expect on site.

WHAT EXPERIENCE ARE YOU BRINGING TO THE ROLE?

I bring 15 years of hands‑on hire experience across customer service, account management and business development. I understand how hire customers think, what pressures they’re under, and what they expect from a supplier. I’ve managed branches, grown accounts, built strong relationships and consistently delivered results in competitive areas.

WHAT ARE YOUR SHORT-TERM PLANS IN YOUR NEW ROLE?

My first priority is to settle into the team, understand the product range in detail and get a clear picture of how LGH operates day‑to‑day. Once I’ve built that foundation, I’ll focus on developing my customer portfolio,  getting out to see existing accounts, identifying new opportunities and promoting the LGH brand.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO THE MOST?

Highlighting LGH’s expertise and capabilities across the UK. As well as being back out on the road, meeting customers, contributing to team performance and chasing targets. I’m competitive, and I love the buzz of winning orders.
