To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Aston Villa FC, founded in 1874, Leith Natural Stone was commissioned to design and install the new bronze lion statue outside Villa Park. Achieving the precise positioning of the statue behind the North Stand required accuracy, planning, and the right lifting equipment.
That’s where LGH stepped in, supplying the specialist equipment needed to support Leith Natural Stone throughout the process. The focus remained on precision, strict schedule adherence, and the seamless execution of the statue’s placement.
For the installation, we supplied Leith Natural Stone with the following equipment:
· 1 × CMOD 12
· 4 × 8.5t WLL shackles
· 4 × 6.5t WLL shackles
· 1 × 4.75t WLL shackle
· 1 × 8t × 2m EWL round sling
· 1 × 5t × 4m EWL round sling
The project was a complete success: the lion statue was officially unveiled on 12 May 2025.
