David Cutter - BDM

LGH welcomes David Cutter to the UK sales team as Business Development Manager. In his new role, David will be responsible for developing new business opportunities and growing LGH's presence in Scotland. He will also be working closely within the sales team to provide support and expertise.

We recently had the opportunity to sit down with David for a Q&A session. Here is a glimpse of what we discussed:

What motivated you to join LGH and take up the BDM role?

LGH is a leading name in the lifting industry and the role allows me to get involved in all a huge range of projects, both big and small, within various industry sectors in the UK.

 

What are your career achievements so far?

My most significant career achievements include my involvement in the Warm Homes contract at the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, signing major contracts at Testo which resulted in sector growth, and achieving my own brand status with the largest independent plumbing and heating merchant in Scotland.

 

What industries have you worked in?

I've had a varied career including 35 years in the plumbing and heating industry, from working for merchants to selling for manufacturers. My most recent role was at VP PLC for ESS, where I oversaw the hire industry for site survey, safety, communications, and test and measure products, across eastern Scotland.

 

What experience are you bringing to this role?

I am bringing years of experience from my time working in ESS, with a particular specialism on tripods, and davit arm systems. I also have good relationships and a strong customer base that I have developed over the years within construction, water, oil, and gas.

 

What are your short-term plans in your new role?

My short-term goal is to spread the word out of Motherwell depot that LGH is here and ready to meet your requirements however big or small. I am also excited to further grow our customer base from our Aberdeen depot within different market sectors.

 

What are you looking forward to the most?

LGH has a broad range of products which allows to to offer a good mix of equipment to customers. Working within a company that has the technical expertise to back up it's offering alongside a well-maintained hire fleet is also a great added value selling point.
